·         A Transplant Center, etc.

Mr. MEHMET ALI AYDıNLAR, Chairman of the Board of Acıbadem City Clinic and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Acıbadem, announced the following:

“The agreement is in line with Acıbadem’s strategy focusing on future key developing markets in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkan Peninsula. Recognizing the need of high-quality and high-tech healthcare, this deal is indeed of great significance to Acıbadem. The world-known brand of Acıbadem has well-developed clinical processes, a precise management and an operational approach. It is important to emphasize that the merger of these four hospitals shall turn Bulgaria into a leading country in the region offering highest quality of healthcare services”.

Mr. Jordan Kamchev, Chief Executive Officer of Acibadem Sistina, made the following comment:

“The agreement for sale and purchase on establishing the largest medical group in Bulgaria was signed in Sofia, wherein together with Acibadem, AFC and City Clinic we took over five hospitals in Bulgaria i.e. the hospital Tokuda and four City Clinic hospitals, two of which are in Sofia and one of which in Varna and Burgas. Considering the above mentioned fact we positioned ourselves on the Balkan map as the largest operators in the private medical business. The deal was agreed earlier and was recently realized, after all the necessary approvals from the institutions in Bulgaria were received.

The role of Acibadem Sistina Hospital is of great importance and we will be part of the technical support for the nursing staff and will assist in the realization and implementation of administrative issues, which have already been completed in Skopje by Sistina and Acibadem. In the upcoming period, Acibadem Sistina Hospital will be a training center. This is a major satisfaction for us since we will need to implement all our experience in the Bulgarian health system.

Macedonian patients in Bulgaria will certainly have access to services that are not available in Skopje, but are available in Bulgaria, i.e. through Acibadem Sistina they can quickly obtain the service and get a better price for it.

As a result of the quality of the equipment at City Clinic’s Oncology Center, as well as its latest technology and experienced team of doctors it is one of the most modern oncology hospitals in Europe. I think that the energy to be created between us and the hospitals in Bulgaria will have a positive impact on many Macedonian patients.”
