Pathological anatomy specialists Dr. Dzengis Jashar and Dr. Katerina Kubelka-Sabit represented Acibadem Sistina Hospital at the “Transforming Healthcare Together” Symposium held on January 24 and 25 in Tirana, Albania. The symposium was also attended by lecturers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Kosovo and Albania. The role of this symposium, says Dr. Jashar, was to identify the differences and introduce standards in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer using biomarkers in personalized medicine.

These biomarkers were first introduced in our country in 2016 and Acibadem Sistina Hospital was the first to participate in the analysis of these new techniques. The Acibadem Sistina Pathological Laboratory introduced the first standards to be applied by hospitals across the region.

“In this time period we imposed the criteria for accurate and effective diagnostics, and at the symposium Dr. Kubelka-Sabit presented the diagnostic modes, while I presented the results of the tests performed. Hence, we have reaffirmed that the quality of health services in our hospital, especially in the field of diagnostics in pathology, is within the same standards as the top hospitals in the world”, says doctor Jashar, Assistant Professor.

The symposium was attended by oncologists, pathologists and doctors in the field of healthcare management.
