Rheumatology

The specific feature of the Department of Rheumatology is its multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of complex rheumatic diseases. The complex nature of autoimmune diseases is revealed by an algorithmic approach. Experienced specialists using sophisticated tools (numerous autoantibodies tests and the most advanced methods of CT, MRI, PET) provided by the diagnostic laboratories, ensure timely clarification of the most complex cases and enable optimal start of an appropriate treatment.

RAPID DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

The team of rheumatology specialists has years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of rheumatic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, systemic lupus, gout (gouty arthritis) etc.

The focus of the Department of Rheumatology is on the systemic connective tissue disorders: systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), poly-dermatomyositis (PM/DM), systemic sclerosis, diverse group of disorders – vasculitis and many other autoaggressive entities labelled as autoimmune diseases.

The optimal diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis is a key requirement for timely start of the treatment and prevention of long-term disability.

The Department of Rheumatology provides a rapid diagnosis and effective treatment of crystal arthritis (gout, pseudo gout, etc.). In addition, it treats the epidemic of the 21st century: osteoporosis. Patients suffering from arthrosis (osteoarthritis), spinal osteoarthritis or peripheral joint osteoarthritis also have the opportunity for pain relieve and improvement of life quality by using the healthcare services we provide.

Our mission is to promote prevention, treatment and mitigation of the effects and symptoms of rheumatic diseases through education and application of the newest protocols for the treatment of patients with such diseases.
