On the 8^th and 9^th of June, the first “Polytrauma Course” with international participation was held, which aims to combine the knowledge of general surgeons, traumatologists, orthopedists, neurosurgeons, intensivists, physiatrists … The Course includes the complete treatment of a polytraumatized patient (first aid, emergency center, intensive care, surgical ward treatment, rehabilitation), as well as lectures, case studies, and practical exercises. Among the lecturers were experts from Switzerland, Germany, USA, Israel, and Albania. The course is certified and led by an international group of experts. The “Acibadem Sistina Hospital” was involved in the organization of the Course with four lecturers, Prof. Jordan Saveski and D-r. Neda Trajkovska (trauma surgeons), Ass.Prof. Darko Sazdov (anesthesiologist intensivist), and D-r. Anica Hadzi-Petrusheva Jankijevikj (physiatrist). Their experience in the treatment of the most difficult patients, the polytraumatized ones, contributed the goal of the Course to be achieved, emphasizing the priorities and the importance of the multidisciplinary approach. The presented results proved once again that the “Acibadem Sistina Hospital” follows the world protocols in the treatment of the polytraumatized patients, with statistical success in survival which contributed the “Acibadem Sistina Hospital” to have a treatment success equal to the largest trauma centers in Europe and the world. Indisputable is the leadership of one of the most experienced traumatologists in our country, Prof. Jordan Saveski, who with his decades of experience in the treatment of the most seriously injured patients, manages to decrease the mortality and the morbidity, which actually is the main goal in the treatment of polytraumatized patients.
