Prof. Saveski did the impossible

03.05.2017

Vigan Latifi is a 28-year-old boy from Prishtina. He was enjoying his everyday activities until 8 months ago, when his life suddenly took a wrong turn. He found himself on the brink of death and the chances of his survival were very slim.

Vigan is a graphic designer and makes advertisements – explains his mother Tevide. Before his accident, he went to set up an advertisement for one of his clients. Since he took longer than usual, we started calling him. He usually immediately calls us back, but after 20 missed calls Vigan didn’t respond. After 2 hours we were seriously concerned and started thinking that something was wrong. We were persistent and continued calling him. Then, the police answered his phone and told us that our son is in the ER. We immediately went there. It was raining and slippery… When we arrived it was horrifying. There was blood everywhere, his teeth were broken and he had injuries on his entire body.

The hospital where our son was admitted after the accident, did not have the basic resources that were necessary for the operation, and we simply couldn’t allow our son to stay here. We decided to bring him here at Acibadem Sistina Hospital in Skopje, – said Tevide.

The right place at the right time

“He was at the hospital in Pristina for 20 hours. The situation was very critical. He only had a 1% chance of recovery. After 20 hours we came at Acibadem Sistina with an urgent transport, where Prof. Dr. Jordan Saveski and Dr. Neda Trajkovska welcomed us. They examined our son and explained his condition and required surgeries. We didnt know anything about Prof. Saveski, but we knew that the best doctors work at Acibadem Sistina Hospital. He took as on if we were his closest relatives; he was very professionally and friendly oriented. As a result of the accident, our son’s kidneys gave up, he stopped urinating and was on dialysis. The surgeries went smoothly. Vigan was in the hospital for 30 days. His first surgery was 7 days after he was admitted and the second one after 10 days. He was moving with aids and and began to normally move in 2 months. He can move on his own now and return to daily activities. His left leg, left arm and ribs on the left side were broken. Thanks to Prof. Saveski, in whose hands was the life of our son, he remained alive. We were at the right place, at the right time. There are no words to express our gratitude to the professor and the entire staff of the hospital who constantly cared for the health of our youngest son– explains his father Ramadan.

“The patient was hospitalized at Acibadem Sistina Hospital on 16.07.2016 as an emergency, with severe injuries obtained from a car accident. Vigan was in severe general condition, unstable and intensive multidisciplinary treatment was required. The patient had damage to the spleen, kidney, contusion and hematoma of the liver, a broken bone in the neck, a broken bone in the elbow, lower leg, open wounds on the shoulder and upper arm, femur, fractures of multiple ribs, contusions and hematoma of the lungs, explains Prof. Dr. Jordan Saveski from Acibadem Sistina Hospital.
