About 100 dermatologists from the country, tenth lecturers from abroad and several hundred students attended the symposium held in Shtip under the auspices of “Goce Delchev” University and the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Among the participants in the symposium, supported by the Macedonian Association of Dermatologists, was Dr. Andrej Petrov from “Acibadem Sistina” Hospital who gave a lecture on his experiences with laser skin renewal. The hospital showed it has experience, staff and knowledge on interventions proving itself as a leading hospital in the region. Dr. Andrej Petrov points out the inspiring atmosphere at the symposium with all novelties in dermatology, aesthetic dermatology and dermatologic oncology presented.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Katsambas of the University of Athens, former president of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, and academician Nikolay Tsankov from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, former dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Medical University Sofia, took part in the lectures. In fact, they are among the most famous dermatologists in the Balkans. They held a workshop at the symposium, moderated by “Acibadem Sistina” team, which is a high recognition for the hospital known outside the borders of Macedonia.

“They are great scientists, living legends in the area, real experts in the Balkans. They honored us with their presence, while the lectures were held in great atmosphere and full amphitheatres. We were sponsors of the botolinum toxin workshop, held by Dr. Andreas Katsambas. There was a live demonstration and profound explanations about its occurrence. It left a great impression on all attendees. We moderated the workshop together with my colleague Dr. Vesna Pljakovska. Dr. Katsambas made a direct application for the procedures he spoke about”, says Dr. Andrej Petrov, a dermatologist.

Dr. Petrov adds that “Acibadem Sistina” confirmed once again its position of a leading hospital in the country since this type of interventions is not organized by other hospitals.

The idea is to make this symposium a traditional one, and it has been already accepted by “Goce Delchev” University and the Macedonian Association of Dermatologists.
