Prof. Aleksandar Nikolikj, cardiac surgeon, and D-r. Dimche Slaveski, specialist in anesthesiology with resuscitation, from the “Acibadem Sistina Hospital” received certificates of appreciation for special contribution and advancement of the transplantation and organ donation, a recognition awarded by the Medical Chamber of Macedonia. These eminent doctors were part of the team of cardiac surgeons and anesthesiologists who performed the first heart transplantation in the country back in 2020.

The certificates of appreciation were given on the ceremony that marks the 31^st year of the existence of the Medical Chamber of Macedonia as an independent and professional organization of all medical doctors in the country.

Prof. Nikolikj, who has 30 years of experience in this field, is the only doctor working in a health institution in the country who has experience in this type of interventions i.e. he was part of three heart transplantation teams so far.
