Acibadem Sistina Hospital, together with its surgical team, is intensively preparing to start a new era in surgery. Part of the urology team, including Prof. Sotir Stavridis, MD, PhD and Vladimir Lozanovski, MD, successfully completed the training in robotic-assisted surgery at the TOUMAI®️ Robotic Surgery Training Center, developed in collaboration with MicroPort within the Acibadem University, Istanbul, Turkey. During their stay, Kristina Ristovska, a nurse from the Urology Department at “Acibadem Sistina”, completed the nursing training as well.

Robotic-assisted surgery represents a revolutionary advance in modern urology, especially when it comes to complex and oncological interventions in the lesser pelvis and retroperitoneal space. Thanks to three-dimensional HD visualization, increased precision and instrument flexibility that exceed the capabilities of the human hand, robotic technology allows for extremely precise dissection and preservation of vital structures. With the help of the surgical robot, interventions such as radical prostatectomy, radical and partial nephrectomy, ureteropyeloplasty, pyelolithotomy, radical cystectomy and ureterocystoneostomy will be performed at “Acibadem Sistina”. These procedures include treatment of malignant diseases of the prostate, the kidney and the bladder, as well as reconstructive surgeries of the upper and lower urinary tract.
