May is a month globally dedicated to raising awareness of asthma and allergic diseases, and in that regard, we would like to introduce you to a new member of the Acibadem Sistina Hospital team.

Primarius Emilija Manasievski, MD, is a pediatric pulmonologist-allergist with many years of experience in diagnosing and treating children with asthma and other allergic diseases.

As a doctor who has been treating children with asthma for years, Prim. Manasievski, MD, emphasizes that in a large number of children the asthma is underdiagnosed yet, most often due to the fear and stigma that the "asthma" diagnosis causes among parents.

Although the asthma diagnosis is still a stigma that causes great concern and fear among parents, it should be emphasized that it is one of the most successfully controlled chronic diseases in children thanks to the modern approach and anti-inflammatory inhalation therapy; their proper and regular implementation in most cases lead to a good outcome and good control of the disease, as well as possible remission in some children.

Acibadem Sistina Hospital, thanks to its educated staff and modern diagnostic methods, enables early detection, precise diagnosis and relevant treatment of asthma in children.

In this regard, the hospital has supported the "Open Day for Parents and Children" on the occasion of World Asthma Day; it was held on May 9, at the “Avionche” Park in the Aerodrom neighborhood.

The event was organized by the Association of Physicians and Patients for Allergic Diseases – ALLERGICO, whose president is Prim. Emilija Manasievski, MD, a pediatrician pulmonologist-allergist, and some members of the medical team at Acibadem Sistina Hospital.
