Prof. Igor Kaftandziev, MD, PhD participated in the 7^th Congress of the Croatian Trauma Society with international participation, that was held on April 17 and 18, 2026 in Opatija. The event brought together more than 260 participants – leading experts in the field of traumatology, orthopedics and related medical disciplines who had the opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss the latest achievements in the diagnostics and treatment of traumatic injuries, as well as to get acquainted with modern surgical techniques and innovative approaches to treatment.

Prof. Kaftandziev, MD, PhD, presented himself at the Congress as an invited lecturer with two expert lectures entitled: "Management of Femoral Proximal End Fractures in the Geriatric Population" and "Management of Periprosthetic Femoral Fractures Following Application of a Total Hip Prosthesis".

Additionally, Prof. Kaftandziev, MD, PhD was the moderator of the Orthogeriatric Surgery Session, where the challenges in the treatment of elderly patients were discussed, with a special emphasis on improving outcomes and quality of life.

His participation in this prestigious Congress is another confirmation of his expertise and international affirmation. Otherwise, Prof. Kaftandziev, MD, PhD is also an honorary member of the Croatian Trauma Society, a recognition that reflects his long-term dedication and contribution to the development of traumatology.
