In anticipation of the Nurses' Month, the simulation center of the Acibadem Sistina Hospital began the implementation of the simulation exercise "RISK DOWN - SAFETY UP".
The joint cooperation initiated by the hospital head nurse Biljana Dilevska and Dr. Vesna Atanasovska - Assistant Director of "Dr. Panche Karagjozov" high school met with a positive reaction from both the hospital employees and the school instructors.
The simulation is specifically designed for the needs of third-year students, nursing/technician majors, and their needs for recognizing basic risks in a hospital room. The goal is for students to increase their perception of errors and risks during their practical training in hospitals, as well as ensuring patient safety during their stay in the hospital. During the project, knowledge of hand hygiene, patient therapy, and patient care will be covered.
Over the course of several occasions, 162 students from 5 different classes, under the leadership of the nurse for education and training Androniki Bibovska and supervisors Magdalena Mitevska, Jelena Zlatikj Stoilov, and Robert Eftimovski, with the help of school instructors, will carry out training appropriate to the students’ age, knowledge, and educational program.
The main emphasis is placed on enabling students to develop appropriate responses during their education and approaching high standards of patient care, appropriate to the standards of treatment and care according to which Acibadem Sistina Hospital operates.
Each student will be assessed according to established points and at the end of the simulation exercise, the best ranked students will receive certificates of appreciation and appropriate awards for their hard work and success.
Acibadem Sistina is a hospital that is always open for cooperation with institutions that contribute to health preservation and promotion and especially institutions whose mission is education, science and the knowledge increase.
