The initial free consultation and training on sensorimotor stimulation has been recommended for:
• babies born before term
• babies who had birth difficulties such as asphyxia, cerebral hemorrhage
• babies advised by a pediatrician to have physical therapy or developmental monitoring.
Prematurely born children, children with asphyxia, cerebral hemorrhage or twin pregnancies have a higher risk of motor development deviation, and therefore early preventive assessments will lead to earlier recognition, and thus to earlier initiation of treatments; if started on time they will bring a much greater and faster effect.
Prevention and early intervention including physical therapy are best started during the first year of children's life, since the main characteristic in that period is the brain plasticity and therefore the best results are achieved. The free examination can be used from 3 to 12 months age of the baby, by prior appointment at: 02 3099 500.
