Acibadem Sistina Hospital has two state of the art equipped hospital vehicles according to the highest medical standards, which can be used for medical transportation of patients with various health problems. These are vehicles in which high-quality equipment for monitoring, oxygen support, respirators, infusion devices and perfusors are installed for controlled administration of fluids and support of the cardiovascular system. Depending on the need, there are also specially equipped bags with adequate medicines, immobilization means and bandage material that would be needed whenever the patient condition requires.

The team is always formed based on the data obtained about the patient's age, health condition, state of consciousness and the urgency of the transport itself. Most often, the transport is performed by a doctor, nurse and paramedic, in addition to the driver of the hospital vehicle. If it is a pediatric patient, especially if it is a newborn or an infant, the transport is done by a pediatrician sometimes using an incubator that is carried in the van. If it is a patient with cardiovascular problems, the transport is often performed by a cardiologist. Most often, in the largest number of cases when dealing with critically ill patients, hemodynamically unstable, with impaired consciousness and impaired respiration, polytraumatized, the transport is performed by anesthesiologists and anesthetists. In that case, patients need respiratory support with a ventilator, often, a complete invasive monitoring, hemodynamic parameters stimulation and maintenance.

Transport of seriously ill newborns

Possibility of independent maintenance of the newborn body temperature, as well as independent application of oxygen during transport. For the most seriously ill newborns who need respiratory support, there is also a state-of-the-art transport respirator for mechanical ventilation of newborns and children weighing up to 10 kg. In a word, it is a real mobile unit for newborns intensive care, which can meet the needs of transporting seriously ill newborns by land route up to 400 km away. The medical team consists of four doctors and four nurses specially trained and with many years of experience in performing medical transport of seriously ill newborns.
