Within the 62^nd Oncology Congress, from 12 to 15 November at Sava Centar – Belgrade, the 38^th Symposium of Oncology Nurses, with significant regional participation from several countries in the Balkans was held. The Congress, as a significant event in the oncology field and an opportunity for new knowledge and experiences, was attended by Irena Jovanovska Barishikj and Elena Jovanovska, nurses from the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy at Acibadem Sistina Hospital.

At this Congress, Irena Jovanovska Barishikj, nurse, presented the topic "Double Check – A Gold Standard in the Chemotherapy Administration", with a special reference to the importance of safe, precise and correct preparation and chemotherapy administration. She highlighted the key role of double-checking as a fundamental mechanism for increasing the patient safety, minimizing potential errors, and ensuring the highest standards in the oncology care.

“The importance of this process is essential – every dose, every preparation, and every step are checked twice, ensuring maximum safety and confidence in the treatment that patients receive”, she said.
