Organized by "Neocortex", the Center for Psychotherapy, Psychodiagnostics, Training and Education and supported by Acibadem Sistina Hospital, a panel discussion on men's health entitled "Check Yourself, Talk, Live" was held. Attendees at the panel witnessed a discussion on the physical and mental well-being of men - areas that are increasingly proving to be essential for conversation, support and raising awareness.

As one of the panelists, Prof. Sotir Stavridis, MD, a urology specialist from the Acibadem Sistina Hospital, shared how and why regular self-examinations and timely visits to a urologist are crucial for men's health, and presented as well the most important information such as when is the right time to have a prostate examination, which symptoms should not be ignored.

From an oncological perspective, Prof. Deva Petrova, MD, an oncology specialist, spoke about risk factors, determining the stage of the disease, necessary diagnostic procedures, as well as modern methods in the treatment of prostate and testicular cancer.

The panel moderator, Ivana Hadzivanova, M.A., a psychologist and psychotherapist at “Neocortex” and Acibadem Sistina Hospital, directed the discussion towards the most sensitive, but also the most important aspects of men’s health, creating a safe space for open dialogue and sincere support. Key topics covered on the panel were men’s mental health and the silence that must be heard – recognizing and expressing stress, anxiety and emotions, raising awareness of regular check-ups and self-examinations, the fear of examination, how to be each other’s support – building a culture of encouragement, honest conversation and mutual care. It was extremely important that one of the most sensitive, but often silent topic in men's health – erectile dysfunction – was openly and professionally discussed. The panellists explained the multifactorial causes, modern treatments and practical recommendations, emphasizing that timely seeking a professional help is the key to improving health and quality of life.
