Today, the Ministry of Health and Acibadem Sistina Hospital signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at improving the quality and availability of healthcare services in public health institutions.
This document establishes a framework for mutual support allowing inclusion of medical staff from Acibadem Sistina Hospital in public healthcare institutions, especially in situations of increased needs, staff shortages or other priority healthcare requirements.
At the meeting with the Minister of Health, Azir Aliu, a series of initiatives to amend the Law on Health Care in the interest of citizens, especially in the interest of tackling urgent conditions, which currently represent an organizational problem in the operation of private hospitals, was discussed. The meeting also highlighted the real problem of lack of medical staff as a reason for postponing surgical procedures in public health, at a time when healthcare staff from the same public institutions provide healthcare services in private hospitals as well, thus creating long waiting lists.
