SAFE WELFARE AND EVACUATION OF PATIENTS IN CASE OF EARTHQUAKE AND FIRE: A SUCESSFUL EXERCISE IN ACIBADEM SISTINA

The team of employees and Acibadem Sistina Hospital as an institution by itself completely responded to the challenge of safe evacuation and welfare of patients, visitors, and personnel in case of earthquake. A complex simulation exercise for assessment of the readiness for this type of emergency situations, first aid, and fire protection in unpredictable conditions was held.

The aim of this exercise, which was performed in collaboration with the Directorate for Protection and Rescue and the Fire Protection Brigade of the city of Skopje, was to check the level of training of the personnel in case of dealing with the consequences of natural disasters, evacuation after caused damage, and collaboration with another external entities from the protection and rescue system.
