EXPERT MEETING ON “MUSCULAR DYSTROPHIES”

Organized by Acibadem Sistina Hospital under the motto – Life, Strength and Independence, an expert meeting on “Muscular Dystrophies” was held. The meeting was attended by about 100 pediatricians who shared their experiences and knowledge on congenital diseases affecting the motor function of the body.

Before the start, the participants were welcomed by Dr. Dushko Fidanovski, Head of the Department of Pediatric Diseases, who mentioned all activities and events projected for September (free examinations, expert symposium, socializing with children). Dr. Natalia Angelkova, a pediatric neurologist, gave the first presentation on the latest methods of diagnosis and follow-up, with a particular emphasis on the treatment of these diseases. Dr. Svetlana Krstevska Blazhevska, a pediatric cardiologist, talked in her presentation about heart involvement in patients with muscular dystrophy. At the end, Dr. Radica Muratovska-Delimitova, a pediatric neonatologist, explained to the attending physicians the assessment and support of respiratory function in children with muscular dystrophies.
The meeting, accredited by the Doctor’s Chamber of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, is part of the series of events and activities organized by Acibadem Sistina Hospital to mark the Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month.
