A ten-day-old newborn weighing 2.7 kilograms is in a stable condition at Acibadem Sistina Hospital, after being connected to an ECMO machine following one of the most serious surgery in pediatric cardiac surgery. It is the first time such a young patient to be connected to ECMO in the country, which is really a great success for pediatric cardiac surgery. The surgery of transposition of large blood vessels was performed by Ass. Prof. Dr. Vladimir Chadikovski, a pediatric cardiac surgeon. He says that it is one of the greatest successes so far in the country.
