A new type of test for detection of seasonal respiratory infections is available at Acibadem Sistina Hospital. In conditions of increased incidence of infectious diseases, especially in children’s population, this antigen test, the results of which are obtained in a maximum of half an hour, will provide a rapid and accurate detection of the infection in patients, and thus prompt and effective treatment.

It is a multiplex antigen respiratory panel/COVID-19 test that can simultaneously detect six causes of respiratory infections, i.e.: influenza A, influenza B, adenovirus, RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus), mycoplasma pneumonia and COVID-19 antigen.

The test is done upon collecting a nasopharyngeal swab (from the nose and throat) and it will be available to all outpatients or hospitalized patients. For outpatients, the test will be available at the Outpatient Care of the Infectious Disease Department, Entrance C, every day from 8 am to 5 pm. For all urgent conditions and necessities this antigen test will be available at both emergency departments (for children and adults) at any time.
