For the fourth time Acıbadem Sistina Hospital has received accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the most prestigious global organization for accrediting healthcare institutions by the highest quality and patient safety standards.

Receiving its fourth accreditation, the hospital once again has confirmed its continuity in maintaining and improving the highest standards in healthcare. The hospital evaluation took place between February 23 and 26, and it was carried out by an international team of experts from the Joint Commission International organization; all clinical and administrative processes, organizational structures, services and procedures related to patient safety and treatment were evaluated in detail within it.

Upon completing the evaluation, the surveyors were unanimous in their opinion that Acibadem Sistina Hospital provides exemplary patient care as per the global protocols and standards, and it has established a functional system that enables patients to feel safe.

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE JCI STANDARDS IS A GUARANTEE OF SAFETY AND CARE

Application of the JCI standards implies the establishment of clear, measurable and strictly controlled processes in every segment of operation. They are based on the International Patient Safety Goals, including: accurate patient identification, effective and structured communication, increased safety when using high-risk medications, safe and secure surgical procedures, prevention and control of hospital-acquired infections, as well as reducing the risk of injuries during hospitalization.

At “Acibadem Sistina”, these standards have been fully implemented and integrated into its everyday practice. The hospital has had over 3,500 written procedures, protocols and forms that must be applied and regularly revised and improved.

Upon receiving its first accreditation in 2016, Acibadem Sistina Hospital has entered the map of Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospitals and has become the first healthcare institution in the country that operates in accordance with the high safety and quality standards. Since its first accreditation to the present day, the hospital has continuously invested in improving clinical processes, educating staff, and developing a fully integrated healthcare system that sets high criteria in healthcare as per the world standards.
