The Phlebotomy and Pre-analytics Unit at the Diagnostic Laboratories of Acibadem Sistina Hospital has a task and responsiblility to prepare patients for a timely and correct collection of biological materials, their safe transportation to the hospital, as well as relevant preparation of biological materials in the pre-analytical sector, until obtaining a high-quality working sample (serum, plasma, etc.) required for further processing and performing the required diagnostic analyses.
At the same time, the Unit participates in maintaining and increasing the care or safety of patients (of all ages), their comfort, as well as relevant transfer of information about the analyses performed at our and reference laboratories.
The Unit takes part and provides availability of all diagnostic tests for the laboratories through Homelab services to the patients’ home address, i.e. correct collection of biological materials at home including proper transportation of the collected samples of biological materials to the Phlebotomy with Pre-analytics Unit.
The Pre-analytical Unit accepts all materials arriving from outside the hospital, from the Phlebotomy Unit, the Pediatric and Emergency Centers, as well as from other departments of Acibadem Sistina Hospital; they are processed for further pre-analytical processing and transported to the relevant laboratory to perform the requested analysis.
