As the number of patients with Covid-19 complications waiting for hospitalization increases, at a time when the number of infected in the country also increases and new strains of the coronavirus are being diagnosed, at an urgent meeting today (13.03 .2021), the management of Acibadem Sistina Hospital made a decision to increase its Hospital capacity so that an additional number of patients can be hospitalized. At the meeting attended by the entire management team, Gun Gunsoy, CEO, Jordan Kamchev, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Zharko Hristovski, Medical Director, it was decided that Acibadem Sistina fully commits to the equipping and functionality of the Covid Center. Due to the growing number of patients who need hospital treatment, for the needs of the Infectious Diseases Department, i.e the Covid Hospital, the second floor of the Hospital will be adapted and additional 15 hospital beds will be provided. The total capacity of the Hospital will be increased to 69 hospital beds and hospitalizations.

At the same time, most of the technical staff is mobilized in order to be instructed on meeting the needs of the Covid Hospital.

Due to the increase of the capacities in the Hospital, new jobs are created, i.e. two specialists in infectious diseases, specialists in internal medicine, five doctors of general medicine and 15 new nurses will be employed.

Acibadem Sistina Hospital has been protecting public health, both now and before, since the beginning of the Covid-19 epidemic. It has provided support and it has been a leading factor in the protection and treatment of Covid-19 patients since the very beginning. And today’s management decision is a proof of that, i.e. in conditions of deterioration of the epidemiological situation and the requirements of the healthcare system, it meets the needs of the citizens and the state.

The direct actions and specific activities to be taken during the weekend were also determined at the today’s meeting. A new meeting is planned to be held the day after tomorrow (15.03.2021, Monday) in order to determine all the undertaken activities and the operationalization of the plan.

Meanwhile, Acibadem Sistina Hospital is temporarily suspending some of the many new activities and major investments it has focused on, including the promotion of the new Physical Therapy Center with state-of-the-art sports and fitness center, which is the only one of its kind in the region.

The Hospital certainly remains committed to its big plans and innovations and remains the undisputed leader in the country and in the region in terms of equipment, expertise and capacity.
