On the last day of the year, when we wish for the most beautiful things in the new year, Sonja had only one wish – Petra and Viktor, who were born in their 27th gestational week, to stay in good health. They weighed only 850 grams each and were faced with all of the challenges of prematurely born infants.

After 81 days spent at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Petra and Viktor are at home today with mom Sonja and dad Slobodan. Their biggest dream of becoming parents is already a reality thanks to Mitko Ivanovski, MD, while the entire Neonatal Intensive Care Team led by Aleksandar Sajkovski, MD helped in their further growth and development. The family Vukajlovik expressed their sincere gratitude to the whole team.

“Our journey spent at Acibadem Sistina Hospital was like a fairy tale that teaches us about perseverance, desire to have an offspring, as well as love and dedication for the profession. Many obstacles got in the way of my pregnancy, the greatest happened on 04.12.2015 for which the entire Gynecology and Obstetrics Team delivered its knowledge and experience, commitment and resources.

After a month spent struggling, on 31.12.2015, Ivanovski, MD has won and brought the two beautiful angels Petra and Viktor to this world. But the battle didn’t finish there due to the fact that they were born in their 27th gestational week, weighing 850 and 880 grams each. The battle continued at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Each day was a challenge. The team at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, led by Aleksandar Sajkovski, MD, who painstakingly and zealously had to deal with the obstacles of prematurely born infants, after 81 days gave us to hold Petra and Viktor in our hands. There are no words that could express the professionalism and dedication of the team of doctors and nurses. Therefore, we will say that this hospital possesses human potential that has a solution for the most difficult challenges that life can bring.
